How does Art Therapy work?
Art speaks what words cannot say
Art Psychotherapy can be a beneficial therapy treatment for anyone, regardless of age or previous artistic experience. It is valued as a more accessible, flexible, and personalised form of therapy that integrates art making and creative expression into the therapeutic process. The purpose of making art in therapy is not necessarily focused on creating a 'picture perfect' artwork, but rather as a way to explore the meaningful symbols and connections to our life that our art can hold. Art therapy invites collaboration between the art, the client, and the therapist to improve quality in life and physiological wellbeing.
